Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
These are the rules for using Shwone, and for every website made with it. They're part of our Terms of Service. If a website or an account breaks them, we may remove content, take the website offline or close the account.
What you may not do with Shwone
You may not use Shwone to:
- Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
- Scam or mislead people: sell things you don't deliver, publish reviews or testimonials that aren't real, phish for passwords or payment details, or pretend to be another person or business.
- Use photos, words, designs, music or brands you don't have the right to use, or sell counterfeits.
- Send spam, or email people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
- Harass, threaten or bully anyone, encourage violence, publish hateful content, or share someone's private information without their permission.
- Ask for sensitive information in your forms: passwords, full card numbers, government ID numbers or health information.
- Upload malware, or attack other websites or networks.
- Get into accounts or information that aren't yours, get around Shwone's security, test Shwone's security without our written permission, or overload Shwone.
- Harm children in any way. We report any sexual exploitation of children to the authorities.
What you may not sell
You may not sell, or offer as a service:
- Anything that's illegal where you or your customers are.
- Anything on Stripe's list of prohibited and restricted businesses. Payments on Shwone go through Stripe, so Stripe's rules apply too.
- For now, on Shwone:
- alcohol;
- tobacco, vapes, cannabis or CBD products;
- weapons, ammunition or their parts, including knives sold as weapons (kitchen knives and tools are fine);
- adult products or content;
- supplements or other products that claim to prevent, treat or cure an illness.
We may change this list. If a change affects what you sell, we'll tell you first.
You're responsible for the permits, licenses, labels and taxes your products and services need.
Reporting a problem
If you see a website made with Shwone that breaks these rules, email support@shwone.com with the website's address, what's wrong, and any screenshots. We won't tell the website's owner who reported it.
What we do about it
We look at the evidence: the website, the report and, when we need to, the account. Every time a member of our team opens a merchant's account, it's recorded.
If a website or account breaks these rules, we may remove content, take the website offline or close the account. Usually we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. If something causes or threatens serious harm, or is clearly illegal, we'll act at once, without notice, and may report it to the authorities.
Appeals
If we've taken action against your website or account, you can ask us to look again by emailing support@shwone.com within 14 days. Decisions about serious harm are final.
Copyright
If a website made with Shwone uses your work without your permission, send a notice to our copyright agent that includes:
- Your signature. Typing your full name is enough.
- The work you say is being copied.
- The address of the page that copies it, and what on that page is yours.
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that this use isn't allowed by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the copyright or are allowed to act for its owner.
Our copyright agent: Copyright Agent, Shwone LLC, 5441 S Macadam Ave Ste N, Portland, OR 97239, United States. Email: support@shwone.com.
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable what it reports and tell the merchant.
If your content was removed by mistake, you can send our copyright agent a counter-notice that includes:
- Your signature. Typing your full name is enough.
- What was removed, and where it appeared before.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified.
- Your name, postal address and phone number, and a statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you're outside the United States, any district where Shwone may be found), and that you'll accept legal papers from the person who sent the notice.
We'll send your counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've gone to court, we'll restore what was removed 10 to 14 business days after we received your counter-notice.
We close the accounts of merchants who repeatedly use other people's work without permission.
To report a trademark problem, such as someone using your brand, email support@shwone.com.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll email you before it takes effect.
